The Investment Process
The balancing of risk and reward and the selection and allocation of investable assets is all a part of what we refer to as the Investment Process.
We need to ask three questions with respect to risk:
- Are we being compensated for the risk we are taking?
- Are we taking the risk we expected?
- Are we measuring the risk we are taking?
The role of your wealth advisor is to help you define your personal goals and objectives and then, based on your risk tolerance as evidenced by your Risk Tolerance Questionnaire, ask you to help determine the appropriate investment allocation for you. This is a somewhat subjective decision on your part and the most important factor is your personal comfort level with your investment portfolio.
